based on a vintage kimono, this updated version is made of 100% wool suiting fabric and lined with 100% cotton block print fabric. it also features an optional sash and pockets! in other words, all the things i wished my original vintage japanese piece had.
i elongated the sleeves, added pockets, lined the pockets, added a sash, and put so much love and care in the design of this unique garment. i went above and beyond to find the perfect wool fabric...soft, warm and a lovely drape.
in japanese, kodawari means, "the uncompromising and relentless pursuit of perfection". i say this just about sums up the creation of this piece.
available in 2 colors:
- navy blue with coordinating blue flower lining
- dove feather gray with contrasting pink flower lining
pairs perfectly with everything. also, please see the coordinating cashmere scarves i had color matched especailly for these kimonos.

i suggest visiting the following link for the BEST care instructions for wool.
only when necessary, i personally wash mine on cold, turned inside out, use a few drops of dr. bronner's lavender soap & ONLY on gentle wash. i then remove it, roll it in a towel and press on it to remove excess water, hang to dry. otherwise, i just dab clean (not rub) spots per the directions below.
